We talk more and more about Industry 4.0, internet of things and machine learning.
Basically it is about how to improve the production of a good through the interconnectivity of the operators involved, men and machines or even just machines and machines.
This needs investments, of course, and entrepreneurs who understand the potential benefits.
For example, in the field of edible insects breeding and processing, one of the overwhelming cost is human labor that, together with other costs such as energy, provides as output a considerably expensive raw materials whose costs impact the cost of finished products at the shelves.
The question is: could that of edible insects be an 4.0 Industry? Or is it better (or necessary) to keep a large number of human workers within the production chain?
Automation, mechanization and interconnection are principles that, if applied, can improve control, reduce errors and production times, lower raw material prices?
If we are at the dawn of a new industrial revolution we think it’s better to join, we’ve to get off the bed with the right foot and begin to walk now, for not being late tomorrow.
