Florian Nock started getting interested by edible insects in 2013. As an environmental engineer passionate by health and nutrition, he got caught by the idea and started raising insects and experimenting in his room in France In 2014 he started the first international blog dedicated to the subject, he created his own cursus on anomophagy and participated at the workshop “Edible insects: basics on rearing and processing” at the University of Wageningen and “Future of Food Salon: Entomophagy” in Montreal.
After gaining skills and awards in the field, he became a consultant for the creation of an insect farm in France while continuing his writing activities as a guest-blogger for Jimini’s and Bugsfeed. He has participated as speaker at the International Conference “Eating Insects” in Detroit.
He is currently in Shenzhen, China, where he manages communication, marketing and product development for LivinFarms, the world’s first ever developer of a home-breeding system for edible insects. He continues writing on his blog and working as assistant to Benno Meyer-Rochow, member of the editorial board of the magazine Insects as food and feed.
As a certified personal trainer and nutritionist, he loves to experiment cooking with insects, to understand how to integrate them into our diet and he personally follow a healthy “Entotarian” diet.
