My name is Ilaria Marini, I’m twenty-six years old and I recently graduated with a master degree in Veterinary Biotechnology from the University of Milan. Thanks to a series of seminars about the use of insects as animal feed that I had the pleasure to attend during my studies, I developed a deep interest in edible insect.
In a time when the worldwide attention should be focused on productions and lifestyles’ sustainability, in my opinion insects can represent the missing key to achieve a circular economy in the food value chain. Therefore, for their promising role in sustainability of the food system and for their nutritive profile, I think that insects can be the future.
